What is a Domain Transfer?

If you would like to use a domain that you have registered with another provider with your Webnode website, you have the option to transfer it to Webnode. Webnode assumes all technical responsibilities taking the load off of your shoulders. As a result, your website URL will no longer contain .webnode. For example, if your Webnode project is www.mywebsite.webnode.com, it will become www.mywebsite.com.

In order to transfer your domain, simply request the domain transfer from the administration of your website. We will contact you with the next steps by email.

Transferring a domain to Webnode requires that you have activate Premium Services because using your domain is considered a premium feature. A domain transfer is free and you will only have to pay for a 1-year renewal of the domain which will be added to the end of your current subscription of the domain. Any time remaining on your domain will be transferred with it. (If you would like to transfer a .at, .be, .biz, co.at, .de, .fr, .it, .nl or .or.at domain, please contact us for further information).

You will remain owner of your domain. Webnode will only act as the technical contact for your domain in order to be able to manage and set up your domain. Shortly after you request a domain transfer, you will receive a confirmation email with all the information you will need.

You can find more information in the article How to start a transfer.
